The data isn't great when looking at fantasy output at the RB position - fantasy points usually goes down. Saquon also happens to be in the back-half of his RB career at 27 years old. The two things that can save him are: his talent, which is still pretty good, and his offense, which can be an absolute juggernaut in 2024 under new OC Kellen Moore. It is worth noting that among the 23 RBs with 200+ carries last season, Saquon ranked 14th and 12th in missed tackles forced/att and yards after contact/att, respectively. Middle of the pack. His offensive line and quality of offense was absolutely terrible last year, and he did exceed expectations, ranking 13th among the 49 RBs with 90+ carries. With a much better offensive line, a much better offense system, a much better QB, we could see a much better year from Saquon in 2024. The question I have is this - how much will a rushing QB like Jalen Hurts utilize Saquon in the receiving game? A very good receiving RB in D'Andre Swift was underutilized in the department last year. Another question is this - how much will the tush push play a factor in Saquon's ability to rack up a ton of TDs? I'm less worried about the latter, as there will still likely be room for Barkley to come up with 10+ TDs with room for upside. Part of that has to do with having a reliable, bigger back to absorb the punishment, and there's also the chance that Jason Kelce's absence leads to less use of the tush push. I haven't been drafting a ton of Barkley at his price this year, but I understand the intrigue.
