I think Will Levis is set up very nicely this year to have a breakout season. He reminds me of a fantasy darling QB from the past, but first, let's discuss the context. The Titans' offense is being built around the passing game. Every time you talk to their coaches, including their new head coach Brian Callahan, they emphasize how good their running backs are in the receiving game. All indications are pointing to them being a pass-first squad. Even with a backup QB for most of last year, Callahan, as the OC of the Bengals paired with Zac Taylor as the play caller, had the highest early down pass frequency of any team over the last two seasons. In addition to the running backs, Levis has DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley, and let's not forget the veteran addition of Tyler Boyd, making for a legit trio of receivers. There are also improvements on the offensive line, which was terrible last year. The great news is that Brian Callahan hired his father, Bill Callahan, who is considered one of the best, if not the best, offensive line coaches in the NFL, ensuring improvement there. Now, let's get to Levis himself. Last year, he was 3rd worst in catchable throw percentage, off-target throw percentage, adjusted completion percentage, and turnover-worthy throw percentage. However, he threw the deep ball on more than 20% of his attempts, the highest among qualifying QBs. His "hero ball" percentage, which measures incredible throws credited to him making a play, was at 9%, also the highest among qualifying QBs. He's a gunslinger, reminding me of Jameis Winston. There will be room for some bad plays, interceptions, and turnovers, but also for 350-yard passing games and a couple of touchdowns, especially with their defense likely not holding opposing offenses in check this year, necessitating late-game comebacks and lots of passing. This could work out from a fantasy perspective, just like it did for Jameis Winston throughout his career. Additionally, Levis has some rushing ability. Don't be surprised if they use him inside the 5-yard line given the running backs on their roster. I'm intrigued, and I think if you're looking for a late-round QB, he's probably the guy to take a shot on.
