No stranger to producing at a high level in a crowded WR room, Odunze will have to continue his target earning ways if he's going to become a consistent contributor on fantasy teams in his rookie season. The former Washington Husky earned at least 100 targets in each of his two years at Washington, including 114 in 2023 that accounted for a 24.5% target share. Of course, teammate and fellow Washington draftee Jalen McMillan missed the majority of the 2023 college season with an injury, and actually out-targeted Odunze the year before in 2022 - however, given the high draft capital Chicago invested in him (9th overall), Odunze figures to be a substantial part of the Bears' rotation at wide receiver. He'll face stiff competition from two of the league's top target hogs in WRs D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen, who both registered over 25% target shares in Chicago and Los Angeles, respectively, last season. As a result, Odunze's long-term prospects are certainly much brighter than his short-term prospects, although he'll have an opportunity from day one to start developing rapport with Caleb Williams at the same starting point as his veteran teammates. And with first downs and yards per route run numbers ranking in the 91st and 93rd percentiles, respectively, in 2023, he has a solid shot at avoiding being bullied out of the distribution and carving out a role for himself in the brand new Bears offensive scheme. He is a very polished rookie WR, so don't be surprised if he ends up being the WR to have rosteted this year when the 2024 season is all said and done.
