The Sun God set career highs in targets (164), receptions (119), receiving yards (1515), and receiving touchdowns (10) in perhaps the league's most competitive fantasy offense in 2023. In total, four players on the Lions' offense scored 10+ scrimmage TDs (Gibbs, Montgomery, LaPorta, and St. Brown), and St. Brown has proven to be QB Jared Goff's favorite target among those playmakers. His 0.30 targets per route run ranked fifth among all receivers with 100 or more routes run, and his 0.139 first downs per route run ranked fourth behind only Tyreek Hill, Brandon Aiyuk, and Justin Jefferson. St. Brown also laid claim to the 7th-highest yards per route run in 2023 (2.81), good for 7th in the NFL as one of the league's most efficient receivers. Perhaps the most impressive about St. Brown's dominance is the fact that he has posted these gaudy numbers in an offense that was bottom-six in overall pass rate last year. With Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery spearheading a thunder-and-lightning ground game, that reliance on pounding the rock is unlikely to change in 2024. However, that won't likely matter for the former 2021 fourth-round pick, who has proven his mettle as a vacuum for opportunity. The Lions lost Josh Reynolds (608 yards, 5 TDs last year) to the Broncos via free agency, and HC Dan Campbell has suggested that Jameson Williams could step into a larger role as the No. 2 WR behind St. Brown; however, any potential redistribution of opportunity is unlikely to affect the first-team All-Pro pass catcher in negative way. He's one of the safest picks in the first round.
