Not even extreme scoring efficiency could deliver Sutton to his first top-30 finish in PPR points per game since 2019, although his ten touchdowns - all of which he scored individually in separate weeks - made it so fantasy managers knew exactly what they were getting when they put him in their lineups last year. Sutton scored 10+ points in 12 of 14 games that he posted a full route participation in, but at the same time failed to crack the 20-point threshold once in 2023. Of course, that was with a shell of Russell Wilson under center, but nothing screams negative regression more than the level of dependence Sutton displayed on touchdowns to produce. With just an 18.7% target share (40th) and 0.22 targets per route run (46th), there's not much for him to fall back on in terms of where his fantasy points are coming from. It's also worth mentioning that Sutton contributes just about nothing after the catch; among 53 receivers to run 400 or more routes in 2023, Sutton ranked 48th in yards after contact (2.86) and 47th in missed tackles forced (0.05) per reception. Heading into 2024, Sutton will play with yet another unproven signal caller in Bo Nix throwing him the ball. That doesn't necessarily bode well for his prospects in what statistically was a bottom-10 offense in 2023, but with Jerry Jeudy out the door and only Josh Reynolds being brought in to fill his shoes, Sutton will likely reprise his role as Denver's most targeted receiver this year barring injury. And on an offense that could find itself crawling across the finish line in 2024, he'll have to lean heavily on opportunity to be worth consideration in starting lineups on a weekly basis this year.
