Must-Add Unicorns: The Dream Picks
Before we dive into our top waiver wire targets for Week 3, let's take a moment to spotlight the dream pickups: Zack Moss and Kyren Williams. Both running backs have seized control of their backfields and are high-usage studs. If they're somehow available in your league, they should be your top two adds for the week alongside Ford. Kyren, Ford, and Moss in that order. But let's face it: in most competitive leagues, Kyren and Moss are already rostered. So let's focus on who you can realistically pick up to elevate your team.
The Realistic Waiver Wire Targets (With FAAB Recommendations)
1. Jerome Ford - FAAB: 75%+
Nick Chubb's season-ending injury has catapulted Ford into must-own territory. If you have the FAAB to burn and need a plug-and-play RB1, go all-in on Ford.
2. Hunter Henry - FAAB: 15%
Henry has emerged as a red-zone favorite for Mac Jones. In a landscape where finding a reliable tight end is like discovering gold, Henry's your man.
3. Roschon Johnson - FAAB: 10%
The Bears' backfield has narrowed down to a two-man show featuring Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson. Herbert may be leading in snaps and opportunities, but Johnson's role as the passing down back in Week 1 gives him upside. He's a stash-worthy add with room for increased work.
4. Tank Dell - FAAB: 10%
Dell's 24% target share in the Texans' offense makes him a high-upside add, especially in leagues that run plenty of 11 personnel sets.
5. Tutu Atwell (Short-term) - FAAB: 7%
Consistency is king in fantasy, and Atwell has produced 15+ PPR points two weeks running. If you're in a PPR league, allocate 7% of your FAAB budget for him.
6. Josh Reynolds - FAAB: 7%
Reynolds' 19% target share and top-30 finishes among WRs make him a tantalizing option. He brings both a solid floor and considerable upside.
7. Matt Breida (Short-term) - FAAB: 5-10%
With Barkley sidelined, Breida becomes the Giants' lead back for the short term. He's a decent flex play, especially for those struggling with RB depth.
8. Zay Jones - FAAB: 10%
Don't let one bad week deter you. Jones has shown promise and could have had a huge Week 2 with a little more luck.
9. Jayden Reed - FAAB: 10%
A 22% target share and 29% targets-per-route-run ratio make Reed an appealing add for those seeking upside at the WR position.
10. Justice Hill - FAAB: 5-10%
Hill's value lies in his receiving-game involvement. While he might not be a touchdown magnet, his high snap count and route participation offer a safe floor.
11. Zach Ertz - FAAB: 10%
Boasting a 30% target share, Ertz is a reliable TE option that could be a weekly starter for your team.
12. Jordan Love - FAAB: 7%
As the QB9 on the year and a top-3 finisher in one week, Love is a quarterback worth adding if you're looking for streaming options or long-term upside.
13. Robert Woods - FAAB: 5%
CJ Stroud has been lighting it up, and the beneficiaries are not only Nico Collins but also Robert Woods and Tank Dell. Nico is likely already off the waiver wire in competitive leagues, but Woods and Dell might still be up for grabs. If you're looking for a solid WR option from a high-volume passing offense, Woods is a good add.
The Texans are an 11-personnel-heavy team, meaning there are plenty of opportunities for all three of their top wideouts. Woods has strung together two solid performances and, while he might be the third option behind Nico and Dell in terms of fantasy relevance, don't overlook him. With a 5% FAAB recommendation, Woods is worth adding to your roster as a WR3 or flex play with upside.
14. Rashid Shaheed - FAAB: 5%
Shaheed offers consistent flex-play value due to his big-play ability. If you're looking to swing for the fences, consider adding him.
15. Kendre Miller - FAAB: 5-10%
Miller becomes a relevant short-term option due to Jamaal Williams' hamstring injury. However, tread cautiously as Kamara is expected back in Week 4.
16. Kendrick Bourne - FAAB: 2-3%
Bourne has shown deep-threat potential with Mac Jones. He could see an increased role, making him a speculative add.
