Top-20 Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 7 in Fantasy Football

ree

With six teams on bye this week, it's crucial to snag the right players off the waiver wire to plug into your fantasy football lineup. You also need to balance short-term fixes with long-term stashes. Here are the Top-20 waiver wire pickups for Week 7, covering a range of positions and fantasy impacts.

My Top Waiver Wire Targets:

1. Elijah Mitchell (Short-term) FAAB - 15%

The 49ers' backfield situation is unclear with Christian McCaffrey's status up in the air. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan has shown confidence in Elijah Mitchell, making him the #1 waiver wire pickup this week, despite uncertainties.

2. Michael Mayer FAAB - 10-15%

A rising tight end who has overtaken Austin Hooper, Michael Mayer shows promise with a solid 67% route participation and 27% targets/route run in Week 6. He's a strong TE option.

3. Curtis Samuel FAAB - 5-10%

Despite a roster boasting Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson, Curtis Samuel has emerged as the best fantasy WR on the Commanders. With three top-20 PPR fantasy finishes in as many weeks, he's your top WR add.

4. Josh Downs FAAB - 10%

With a tough matchup against Cleveland this week, Josh Downs remains a target for Gardner Minshew. Given Anthony Richardson's likely season-ending injury, Downs could provide PPR flex value with WR3 upside.

5. Rashee Rice FAAB - 10%

Although not yet a full-time player, Rashee Rice has delivered four Top-36 finishes this season. With the potential to become Patrick Mahomes' #1 WR, he has immense upside.

6. Kareem Hunt FAAB - 10%

Hunt has moved into a 56 to 44% opportunity split with Jerome Ford, making him a viable flex option, especially as the primary short-yardage back.

7. Zach Evans (Short-term) FAAB - 5-15%

With Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers likely out this week, Evans gets a chance in a very productive offense, albeit possibly as a short-term option.

8. Tyjae Spears (Bye) FAAB - 15%

Currently on a bye, Tyjae Spears has still been one of the most efficient RBs in the NFL. He offers standalone value and should be stashed for the rest of the season.

9. Jameson Williams (Long-term) - FAAB - 5%

Williams has big-play ability but a small current role in the Lions' offense. Consider him a long-term stash with a current weekly floor of zero.

10. Jonnu Smith - FAAB - 5%

Part of a 2 TE set with Kyle Pitts, Jonnu Smith still offers consistency, with three straight top-10 tight end finishes. He's a dependable short-term option with long-term upside.

11. Keaontay Ingram (Short-term) - FAAB - 2-5%

Ingram led the Cardinals' backfield last week but faces competition. He's a potential play in a favorable matchup against Seattle.

12. Jordan Mason (Short-term)

Mason could either back up Elijah Mitchell or take the lead role, making him a boom/bust pickup, especially if McCaffrey is out for a couple of weeks.

13. Luke Musgrave

Under the radar but with a healthy 25% target share, Musgrave offers rest-of-season upside at the tight end position.

14. Salvon Ahmed (Short-term)

Ahmed could potentially fall into fantasy points in a Dolphins offense that has been on fire. He's a viable pickup, especially if Jeff Wilson remains sidelined.

15. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Long-term)

Despite early disappointments, Smith-Njigba offers second-half breakout potential. The Seahawks' shift to 3 WR sets benefits him.

16. Latavius Murray (Short-term)

Murray could serve as the primary goal-line RB for a potent Bills offense, especially if Leonard Fournette doesn't sign.

17. Dalton Kincaid

More of a stash, Kincaid could break out later in the season. His route participation and team context make him worth holding onto.

18. Justice Hill

Hill is splitting work with Gus Edwards and could provide both short-term and long-term value as the receiving back in the offense.

19. Craig Reynolds (Short-term)

Reynolds could see some work depending on Jahmyr Gibbs' status. His value may be dependent on goal-line carries.

20. Devin Singletary (Bye, Long-term)

On bye this week, Singletary could become a viable long-term option in a committee backfield with favorable matchups post-bye.
