Kyren Williams is set to be a Top-5 fantasy RB once again in 2024, and here's why. He was locked in as the main guy, but the Rams drafting Blake Corum in the 3rd round has made the situation less straightforward. However, Sean McVay is known for using a bell cow RB when he has his guy and that guy is healthy. Kyren was being fed for a reason, as Sean McVay stated himself. Not only did Kyren produce impressive cumulative stats-ranking as the overall RB2 in FPPG and 3rd in total rushing yards despite playing only 12 games (with the 3rd highest weighted opportunity of 2024), but his efficiency was remarkable too. He ranked top-10 in both yards after contact per attempt and missed tackles forced per attempt among qualifying RBs. This is something we couldn't even say about Todd Gurley in his overall RB1 2017 season, who went on to be the overall RB1 again in 2018. While Corum was very good at Michigan before his injuries, those injuries weren't severe enough to cause the dip in efficiency he experienced last year. The only hole in Kyren's game is his ability in the receiving game; among 30 qualifying RBs, Kyren is dead last in catch percentage and yards per route run. However, Corum doesn't excel in these areas either. Corum may be a league-winning handcuff, but if Kyren stays healthy, he's a league-winning RB at his current RB8 price tag. I will not be leaving my drafts without him.
