Amari Cooper Clears Concussion Protocol, Expected to Play vs Jaguars

Seemingly against the odds, the Browns’ veteran receiver is set to suit up today against the Jaguars after spending the entire week in the NFL’s concussion protocol. The quarterback turnover has not been kind to Cooper’s fantasy production over the past three weeks, with the veteran pass catcher failing to eclipse single-digit scoring in each of the past three games. And as if the water couldn’t be muddy enough regarding Cooper’s prospects this week, the Browns remain yet to officially name a starter at quarterback as of the writing of this newsletter on Saturday night. Considering the state of Cleveland’s passing attack, it’ll be tough to start Cooper as anything more than a low-WR3 with both DTR and Joe Flacco playing relatively uninspiring football. Cooper has been out-targeted by Elijah Moore in back-to-back games since Week 12 and is no longer the clear No. 1 in the Browns offense like we had anticipated him to be coming into 2023.
