Wrong former Cleveland Browns quarterback, Bengals. In a world that demanded the Bengals trade for Jameis Winston for the sake of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Chase Brown, fantasy managers will instead be forced to look forward to Flacco under center for the next two months while Joe Burrow continues to recover from his turf toe injury. It’s not the worst move in the world – Joe Flacco has done his fair share of reviving offenses in the twilight of his career, namely in Cleveland during his first stint there and in Indianapolis last year – but it’s hard to expect a 40-something-year-old quarterback to thrive behind one of the league’s worst offensive lines. Because Flacco is only just now joining the team mid-week, there’s a chance that Browning gets one more chance under center to prove he belongs before he’s ultimately unseated by the veteran. In the grand scheme of things, this is a net positive for Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, as Flacco is at least competent in the passing game compared to what Browning has delivered on the field in relief of Burrow. There’s a chance that the offense could take a step forward far enough, too, that Chase brown could start to reap some benefits, but that’s a glass-half-full take considering the state of the Bengals' offensive line. Back in Cleveland, Dillon Gabriel is cemented as the starter for the team for the time being, while Shedeur Sanders slides up to the QB2 spot. If Gabriel struggles at all the rest of the way, Sanders could potentially see the field – but there’s no reason to grab the former Colorado QB just yet.
