Reed's 10 total touchdowns and very encouraging per-route efficiency have fantasy managers clamoring for a larger role for the second-year receiver out of Michigan State, especially with QB Jordan Love looking to take the next step following a productive first season as full-time starter in Green Bay. Reed was the most productive wide receiver on a per-route basis among Green Bay pass catchers to play in at least ten games in 2023, posting lead marks in targets per route run (0.26 - 18th in the NFL), fantasy points per game (13.6), and fantasy points per route run (0.61 - a number that ranked sixth among all WRs to run 350 or more routes in 2023). His 2.23 yards per route run also ranked 21st among qualifying receivers, but a meager 58.9% route participation and 16.7% target share ultimately limited his scoring ceiling. That's likely a product of Reed operating in arguably the league's most crowded WR corps, featuring the likes of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Luke Musgrave, and even Bo Melton and Tucker Kraft. With all of those names slated to return in 2024, it's unlikely that Reed is able to demand a WR1-worthy and potentially even WR2-worthy target share, meaning he'll have to rely on efficiency to come through at his price as the most expensive Packers WR off the board. Luckily, Reed was the definition of efficiency, and in an ascendant Green Bay offense, even a slight uptick in opportunities and a full time route participation could help him become an every-week WR2. For now, it's best to view him as a low-end WR3 with expected boom weeks.
