J.K. Dobbins to Miss 'Some Time' with Knee Injury Suffered vs Ravens

It was a good run while it lasted. While ‘some time’ doesn’t necessarily stick a fork in the rest of J.K. Dobbins’ 2024 season, it seems to suggest that this could be more than a one-week injury to his knee. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers who had been relying on him as one of the most pleasant surprises of the year, with Dobbins ranking as the overall RB14 currently in total fantasy points scored. It’s officially an MCL sprain, and in the meantime, fantasy managers can expect Gus Edwards and Kimani Vidal to work in tandem to replace the production vacated by Dobbins’ absence. Edwards’ 3.27 yards per carry this season pales in comparison to Dobbins’ 4.85, and there’s a good chance that continued struggles on the ground for Edwards could result in rookie RB Kimani Vidal earning more touches than he’s had all season in Week 13. With a matchup on the horizon in Week 15 against the Buccaneers, Dobbins will be worth holding on to in the event he’s able to return for that game – however, until then, Gus Edwards will profile as a desperate RB3/flex play while Kimani Vidal offers intriguing upside as a potential solid RB3.
